10 Year Lifetime Warranty

We design our products to be used and loved for many years, and our loyal customers return each time knowing to expect a beautiful handcrafted product that is true value for money. Each item leaves our workshop with pride, and are made to withstand a lifetime of normal wear and tear for the use they were intended.

Our 10 Year Lifetime Warranty covers defects on the workmanship for a period of 10 years from date of retail purchase. During the warranty period, The Real McCaul will replace or repair, at its sole option, any defective item returned to us, by its original purchaser.

The warranty DOES NOT cover problems that result from abuse, accident, misuse, intentional modification, or failure to maintain the leather. 

Warranty covering the leather itself is subject due to preservation techniques used by it’s owner. Unless in extreme and clear cases of a faulty hide, we can not cover the 10 years on the leather itself, as proper maintenance is essential to preserving the natural life of your product.

After nearly 50 Years in Business, we have spent some time sourcing the best quality materials to use and the types of techniques to craft with. 

YKK zips, water-resistant linings, high strength thread, brass and quality hardware all contribute to the longevity of our products. We truly stand by what we have chosen to manufacture with, and the way that it is constructed.

Our goods are made out of 100% authentic full grain, top grain and suede leather. It is a natural and durable material that has been used for thousands of years due to its strength and longevity. We DO NOT USE any 'pleather', 'Vegan Leather', Reconstituted Leather, 'Leather Filler' or low-grade Leather.

Most 'Vegan' Leathers are plastic, which means they wear quicker and end up eventually in landfill. In the 'Throw-Away' society we live in today, we would rather not contribute to the growing problem of fast-fashion and over-consumption.

The leather industry is usually misinterpreted as an 'out-dated' and 'barbaric' material, but in fact is generally a bi-product from the meat industry. We truly believe in reducing waste in the world, and ensuring the entirety of the animal is used. We don't believe in 'offcuts' and will try to use every single part of the hide down to the size of a 5c coin.

Each hide we use is carefully inspected, and we’ve been sourcing the same leather from the same tanneries for a very long time. We trust these leathers and the process that goes into them to ensure they’re fit for many years of use.

It's essential to remember that quality leather is an organic material, and it is susceptible to absorbing grease, dirt and oils. It's also common for leather to have scratches and spots over time from normal use, and we believe this is evidence of your leather having an adventurous journey. Each hide will develop a natural patina according to your environment and helps make it truly one of a kind. 

We do not guarantee your items will remain ‘like new’ condition for the duration of their lifetime.

Every item is subject to review by us, and some repairs that are not due to a manufacturer’s defect may require a reasonable fee. 

You will need to return the product to our shop at your cost. Simply email us at paulmccaul@gmail.com to start the process. You must have obtained a Warranty Card signed by one our employees at the time of purchase, and either present this card or a photograph of it.

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS WHICH MAY VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. THE REAL MCCAUL’S RESPONSIBILITY FOR DEFECTS IN WORKMANSHIP SHALL BE LIMITED TO REPAIR AND/OR REPLACEMENT AS SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY. 

WE DO NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES AGAINST THE RETAIL PURCHASER OF THIS PRODUCT.
